Landfill Information


Rowlett residents will be allowed to dispose of debris, without charge, twice within a calendar year at the Hinton Landfill and Transfer Station located in Garland by obtaining a “Landfill Pass” from the City of Rowlett.  You must have your driver’s license and a current utility bill in order to receive the pass. 

Landfill passes are available at four locations:
  1. City of Rowlett Business Office (located at 4004 Main St)
  2. IESI offices (3817 Main Street)
  3. City of Rowlett Public Works Building (4310 Industrial Street)
  4. City Secretary’s Office (4004 Main St.). 
Restrictions for the Landfill Pass are as follows:
  1. Non-transferable.
  2. Card must be surrendered after the second use.
  3. All Landfill regulations will apply.
  4. Proper ID is required (both driver’s license and current water bill).
  5. Abused, mutilated or suspected false passes will not be honored.
  6. If lost or stolen, it will not be replaced.
