Emergency Medical Services
|
The Emergency Medical Services Division operates with 69 medically trained shift personnel, of which 57 are paramedics.
The EMS fleet consists of 3 MICU's and 4 Paramedic engine companies. All units are fully staffed and ready to respond to a variety of incidents 24 hours a day.
Typical calls for service include heart attacks, sick calls, motor vehicle accidents, stabbing, gunshot wounds and poisonings. MICU's are sent on all structure fire calls to provide medical support, rehabilitation and firefighting.
Citizens may notice fire engines responding to calls with ambulances. Since our fire engines are staffed with paramedics in Rowlett, engines will sometimes be dispatched to the scene to provide additional highly trained personnel.
All paramedic programs are regulated and supported by a local medical control physician and medical facility. Coupled with outstanding departmental leadership, have resulted in aggressive and progressive emergency medical services for the citizens of Rowlett. The level of care offered by Rowlett Fire Rescue is rarely equaled. With service as our driving force, Rowlett EMS has become known as an outstanding EMS provider.
We work hard to provide the latest technology and techniques so our citizens are assured the best pre-hospital emergency medical care available.
