The City of Rowlett contracts with the City of Garland to treat all wastewater generated in our city.  Rowlett's wastewater is conveyed to the City of Garland's Rowlett wastewater treatment plant, which is located on Centerville Road.

Where should I report manhole overflows?
Please report manhole overflows to Public Works/Utilities at the number listed above.  We will dispatch crews immediately to clear the lines and clean up any spills. 

What does it mean when a red light is flashing at a sewer lift station?
The Wastewater Utility operates 26 wastewater lift stations throughout the city.  A flashing red light at a lift station could indicate a malfunction.  Please report such an occurrence to Public Works/Utilities at the number listed above or, after hours, to the Police Dispatch at 972-412-6200.

Can the City respond to a sewer back-up at my residence or business?
Contact the Wastewater Utility at the number provided above.  We will dispatch a crew and clear the line if the back-up is occuring in a city line.  If there is a blockage in the customer line, we will notify you.  There is no charge for this service.
