Yogalates


Ages: 16 years to Adult 

Instructor: Dee Lancaster

Yogalates is a fusion of Yoga, Mat Pilates, and strength training; creating a total body workout. Yogalates will stretch, strengthen, tighten and tone the entire body.  There will be a strong emphasis on balancing and flexibility. Stretch bands will be used for resistance training. No classes during spring break, March 17-21.

Introduction to Weight Training


Ages: 12 years to Adult

Instructor: Paramount Fitness Personal Trainers

A certified personal trainer will spend 30 minutes introducing you to the use and technique for the weight lifting machines in the RCC Fitness Room. Class fee for this program is $15. Ballroom Cardio
Ages: 16 and up
Instructor: Tanya LaCombe
Ballroom Cardio is a low impact physical conditioning class that utilizes both ballroom smooth and Latin movements to create a unique and fun workout. This exercise will get your heart pumping, arms and legs moving, increase your circulation, burn calories, improve your overall health and fitness all without a lot of jarring to the joints. The time will fly as you learn steps based from the salsa, cha cha, waltz, rhumba, hustle, tango, foxtrot, meringue, swing, mambo, samba and jive! We will have a great time burning calories and working on getting our hearts healthier! No need for a partner, as we will not be partner dancing.

PIYO


Ages: 16 and up

PIYO fuses together Pilates, Yoga, and strength training in a total body workout.  This class combines the core conditioning of Pilates and the traditions of Yoga. Piyo will stretch, strengthen, tighten and tone the entire body.  There will be a strong emphasis on balancing and flexibility. Stretch bands will be use for resistance training. Revitalizing our minds and bodies to release stress and tension will be practiced at the end of every class.

Spin Class
Ages: 12 years to Adult

Burn 500 – 800 calories in 1 hour! Spin class improves endurance, increases strength, builds muscle tone and reshapes your body.  This fast paced, fun class will push your endurance to the next level.  Get noticeable results from this choreographed, cardiovascular cycling workout.  First class is free if the class is not full. No classes during spring break, March 17-21.

Get a new spin on exercise with Hoop Dancing from Sassy hoops! Hoop Dancing is performed with oversized, weighted hula hoops making it easier to control. Hoop Dancing is a fun, cardiovascular workout that will strengthen your core, tone your body, and increase your balance and flexibility. In this introductory class you will learn how to hoop your waist, lower abs, chest, neck and several off-body movements. Supply Fee of $16 is due to the instructor on the first day of class. You get a 50% discount on your Sassy Hoop with class purchase, so you can take the fun home with you! No class on 3/19.

Tai Chi (for Arthritis)
Ages: 16 and up
Instructor: Chris Bouguyon
Based on Sun Style Tai Chi, the Tai Chi for Arthritis class is for anyone interested in a joint safe form of exercise that not only creates a sense of relaxation, but also improves balance, posture, muscle tone and concentration.  You will work through “your” functional range of motion and find improvement over time.  You will not only learn a specific series of movements that make up the Tai Chi for Arthritis form, but you will also learn individual exercises that you can take home and practice on your own.  Please wear comfortable clothes and soft flat-soled shoes.  Classes are continuous and new students are always welcome.  Aren’t sure?  Come monitor your first class for free.  Fee: $60.00/ 10 class punch card; or $7.00 daily drop in fee.

Tai Chi (Yang Style)

Tai Chi creates a spirit, body and mind connection while improving the immune system, increasing circulation and stabilizing core muscles.  Yang Style places a strong emphasis on posture, balance and grounding from any position. This class strengthens muscles, increases flexibility and range of motion, all while providing mental clarity and amazing balance. First class is free. Jazzercise

Jazzercise is the world's leading dance-fitness program. Jazzercise combines elements of jazz dance, resistance training, Pilates, yoga, kickboxing, and more to create truly effective programs for people of every age and fitness level. Twelve classes offered each week.

Express Body Sculpt
Ages: 16 and up
Instructor: Heather Burrous
A quick warm-up and 30 minutes of hard work that will push you to the max! Strengthen and tone your muscles with this quick and challenging full body work-out! A great lunch-time work-out or for those who are pushed for time. All levels welcome. Please bring a mat for floor exercises and stretching. If you have light hand weights, exercise bands, and/ or       exercise balls you may bring them, however, they are not necessary. Taught by a certified personal trainer.

Child's Play-Drop In Playtime Program


Ages: 6 months to 6 years          Instructor: Yolie Pekas & Sandy Schmidt

Do you want to take a fitness class but are worried about finding a babysitter each week? Visit Child’s Play!

Our drop-in playtime program offers a clean and safe environment for your little ones to socialize, interact and most importantly, have fun. Now you can exercise without the worry or hassle of finding a dependable babysitter. Before working out or taking a class, check in at the Front Desk, and then drop your kids off at the Child’s Play room where they can enjoy a wide variety of supervised entertainment. Please Note: Parents must remain in the Community Centre while their child is participating in the Child’s Play program. Fee: $2.00/ per visit, per child or $15.00/ ten visit punch card.
