Parks & Recreation areas include in-city developed parks, nature trails, and access to Lake Ray Hubbard.
DEVELOPED PARKS FOR YOUR ENJOYMENT INCLUDE:
Community Park located at 8500 St. Andrews consists of 138 acres with lighted soccer fields, softball fields, and basketball courts. Enjoy a picnic while you fish in the lakes or enjoy mother nature while walking the trails. Park amenities also include a pavilion, sand volleyball and horseshoe pits plenty of activities for any family gathering.
Isaac Scruggs Park found at 7813 Garner Road is a great neighborhood park offering 6 acres of enjoyment and play space for all. Park amenities consist of basketball courts and a unique playground for the 21st century.
Herfurth Park situated at 4601 Centennial right off Main Street was constructed in 1973 on 24 acres and has lighted baseball league and tournament youth baseball fields, tennis courts, playground, wiffleball field, and a hockey rink.
KATY Railroad Park to be found off of University Drive has 16 acres for your open space enjoyment. With 12 acres being undeveloped this park provides plenty of open space for the kid in all of us that enjoy flying a kite. The developed acres have practice areas for soccer and baseball.
Lakeside Park constructed at C.A. Roan Drive & Miller Road is a great site for the lake lover. Nestled in 7 acres along the shoreline of Lake Ray Hubbard this park is ideal for the avid fisherman and the picnicker. Enjoy the fishing pier, playground, sand volleyball court, picnic areas, and paved walking trails on this scenic waterside park.
The Rowlett Nature Trail found at Miller and Dexham offers a great hiking experience along this waterside wooded trail on 66 acres of native habitat with rest stops along the 1.3 mile path.
Paddle Point Park across from Lakeside Park off of Miller Road has 1.4 acres with a canoe, kayak and jon boat launch area that provides access to over 100 acres of back water on beautiful Lake Ray Hubbard.
Pecan Grove Park located at 5300 Main Street consists of 27 acres and is a hub of activity as this park is adjacent to the Rowlett Community Centre and The Wet Zone. Amenities include picnic areas, Kids Kingdom playground, bank access to Lake Ray Hubbard, and a mile of scenic wooded hiking trails under majestic pecan trees.
Shorewood Park found at Woodlake at William’s Way consists of 14 acres with an in-line hockey rink, basketball court, 2 practice soccer fields, baseball or softball practice field, covered picnic shelter and playground.
Springfield Park positioned just off highway 66 at 5501 Antioch is a great park with 117 acres and a 1.1 mile hike/bike trail. Other amenities include practice sites for baseball, soccer, and football, a disc golf course, fishing ponds, playground, and picnic areas with or without shelter.
Twin Star Park placed at 19 Armstrong Lane is a 5 acre neighborhood park with a picnic area, playground, walking trail, in-line hockey rink and practice soccer fields.
UNDEVELOPED PARK SITES FOR YOUR FUTURE ENJOYMENT INCLUDE:
Cedar Bridge Park positioned off of Bermuda Drive consists of 4.4 undeveloped acres.
Columbia Park placed at 6300 Port Aransas Drive hosts 3.8 undeveloped acres on the shoreline of Lake Ray Hubbard.
Lakeside Park North just off Miller Road and C.A. Roan is home to 11.3 undeveloped lake front acres with excellent fishing and picnic potential.
Mayors Park found at 8600 Dalrock has 5 undeveloped acres with lots of Pecan Trees.
Muddy Creek located off of Liberty Grove is home to 300 undeveloped acres of natural open space.
R. Arnold Edwards Park placed at 5600 Azalea consists of 8 undeveloped acres.
Scenic Point Park found at HWY 66 Bridge and Scenic hosts 8.6 undeveloped acres on the shoreline of Lake Ray Hubbard.
Schrade Bluebonnet Park at 4701 Sunnybrook Drive has 4.9 undeveloped acres.
Sunset Park off of Montego Drive consists of 6 undeveloped acres overlooking the shoreline of Lake Ray Hubbard.
The Environmental Learning Center placed at 6301 Chiesa Road will feature 4 acres designated for a "hands on" environmental learning experience for area school children and guests to enjoy. (Facility not yet open)
