Adopt a Park
|
Did you know you can Adopt A Park in Rowlett? There are many ways you can contribute to the parks in Rowlett.
Donate Something . . .
You or your organization can fund one or more elements of design from a master plan of an existing or planned park, greenbelt or recreational facility. Playground equipment, waterpark feature, park benches, trees, a gazebo . . . the choices are plentiful. And the results will be lasting.
When appropriate, your organization may also want to help with the installation of the items you contribute. The Parks and Recreation Department has an updated list of needs for our community. Sweat a Little . . .
One of the most important ways to keep our parks attractive and safe is through constant maintenance. By investing a little energy, your organization can play a big role in this effort. All you need to do is organize a work team from your pool of employees, members or volunteers. The Parks and Recreation Department will help you select the project that best suits your group’s size and availability. Activities range from one-time projects to ongoing projects. The City will also help you determine the materials needed for your work (dirt, mulch, paint, trash bags, concrete, etc.).
Leave Your Mark . . .
Picture a pretty park bench honoring a loved one. Or playground apparatus dedicated to the youth of your church. Or a jogging trail named for your hard-working employees. Sponsor a wooden slat for Kids Kingdom with you or your organizations name engraved on the slat. This is truly your chance to become a part of the Rowlett landscape.
Your contribution will be recognized through park signage at the location you choose to donate elements or equipment. Significant contributions will be recognized in the local media, the City of Rowlett newsletter, and at a City Council Meeting.
Organizations or businesses that commit to ongoing maintenance projects will also receive signage recognition at the project site and recognition in the local media, the City of Rowlett newsletter, and at a City Council Meeting. Participants in one-time maintenance projects will be honored by the City Council. Every effort will also be made to achieve media coverage.
