About the Marshal
Marshal Rob DeGroot has over 22 years of law enforcement experience, and recently accepted the position as Rowlett City Marshal, moving to the City from Washington State.
Marshal DeGroot holds a Bachelor’s degree from the Evergreen State College in Olympia WA, and is a graduate of the 203rd Session of the FBI National Academy and the Southern Police Institutes Command Staff Development Course. He is also FEMA certified as an Emergency Management Professional.
Marshal DeGroot has worked a variety of assignments in his career, including over 10 years in SWAT. He has experience as a Detective, Motorcycle Officer, Collision Investigator, and Field Training Officer/Instructor. Marshal DeGroot remains an active Law Enforcement instructor, teaching in a variety of areas and disciplines.
He has been wed for over 18 years to his beautiful wife and is the proud father of three wonderful and successful children.
