Property Maintenance Code Violations
|
Property deterioration and nuisances can devalue, detract and degrade the quality of any neighborhood. The Code Enforcement Division enforces regulations pertaining to a variety of City Codes that pertain to property maintenance, some zoning issues and vehicle nuisances. Here are some examples to help you define and determine what constitues a code violation:
-Grass and weeds that exceed twelve (12") in height. -Consistent and non-removed trash and debris, including old furniture, car parts, appliances or other visual nuisances. -Trees, shrubs or plants that cause an obstruction over streets, alleys or sidewalks, or that are obstructing the view at intersections or the view of stop signs or other traffic warning signs. -Residential fence repairs for fences that have deteriorated or have fallen down, that are not reasonably plumb or structurally sound, or that have been externally braced in lieu of replacing posts. -Residential swimming pools/hot tubs that have become stagnated or have water clarity that is insufficient so that the drain is not visible from the main deck. -Residential solid waste/trash that is placed too early for the scheduled collection time. -Storage of trash carts and recycle bins. -Graffiti. -Illegal dumping of trash, rubbish, limbs and other debris. -Inoperable vehicles on private property. -Illegal placement of garage sale or other occasional sale signs, lost and found pet signs, political candidate signs, weekend directional signs and real estate signs. -Parking/storing of boats, trailers, recreational vehicles and vehicles on residential lots. -Address numbers not attached to front and back of residence.
