Related Information Maps North Texas Tollway Authority Located along the shores of Lake Ray Hubbard off I-30 in an area encompassing northeast Dallas County and western Rockwall County, Rowlett offers fast access to Downtown Dallas, D/FW Airport, Dallas Love Field, and major shopping and entertainment venues. The President George Bush Turnpike (PGBT), which will ultimately extend to I-30, allows residents to reach the corridors of Central Expressway in minutes. Transportation initiatives now underway will make travel to and from Rowlett even faster and easier: -City officials have taken an active role to secure the expansion of the Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) rail line into Downtown Rowlett. Efforts include the Main Street Revitalization Project now underway to ensure a vibrant downtown business district that encompasses commercial, retail and residential projects.  Completion of the project is estimated for November 2005. -The community is supporting all activities related to the extension of the President George Bush Turnpike (PGBT) to connect I-30 in Garland to I-35 in Carrollton, giving the city a vibrant north-south corridor. -These expansions enhance access to Rowlett’s economic development projects underway including the North Shore Commercial Development District and a Waterfront Entertainment District.
